TRADE ALERT UPDATES

ILA Strike Update

The International Longshoremen's Association (ILA) went on strike for three days at the beginning of October. This strike was suspended once the ILA and the United States Maritime Alliance (USMX) agreed to extend their contract to January 15th, 2025. With this extension, the ILA members will also receive a 61.5% salary increase over the next 6 years.

During these next few months, companies are advised to take proactive steps to prepare their supply chains for potential disruptions. While we hope negotiations will be made by January 15th, there is no guarantee. The ILA still has demands regarding automation that need to be addressed.

As always, do not hesitate to contact your Rogers & Brown representative or email us at Sales@rogers-brown.com with any questions or concerns.
